Greens announce Mayoral and council candidates on 3 May

22 March 2018

Tower Hamlets Green Party can today confirm that standing as Green candidate for Tower Hamlets Mayor will be committed local Green activist Ciaran Jebb. Ciaran has lived in Tower Hamlets for 7 years and is passionate about the chance to represent such a diverse community with a proud history.

Tower Hamlets Green Party will be setting out their main pledges on housing, the environment, local democracy and anti-social behaviour to residents over the coming days.

Ciaran said:

"I am excited to be the Green Party candidate for Mayor of Tower Hamlets and also for St Peter’s ward on the council.

I joined the Green Party because of their radical approach – speaking honestly about the challenges of climate change, but also the opportunities that clean energy and a better relationship with the natural world provide. I work in sustainability for University College London where my job allows me to make real improvements to the environment.

I am standing for election because I believe that, while individuals can do a lot to lead an environmentally conscious life, big changes are needed at all levels of government in the way that issues like air pollution, good public transport and affordable housing and energy are tackled."

The Green Party has also confirmed its candidates for the 45 local council seats up for election on 3 May. Full details of all candidates and the wards in which they are standing can be found here.
