Send Greens back to the European Parliament - campaigning towards 23 May

27 April 2019

Tower Hamlets Green Party are busy preparing to send Green MEPs back to the European Parliament on 23 May after the Tory government's botched negotiations mean there will be European Elections this year. This gives Londoners a fantastic opportunity to send the Government and the EU a strong message that the UK now firmly wants to remain in the EU. If we elect a set of progressive, effective Green MEPs on 23rd May to represent London we will increase the chances of ending our current Brexit nightmare.

The Green Party has been extremeley effective in the European Parliament, cooperting with a large set of Green MEPs from across Europe to get significant changes that benefit people in the UK, and the environment. London's Green MEP Jean Lambert (above) has been instrumental in particular in supporting enviromental initiatives, and protecting human rights in Europe and beyond.

The Green Party has now announced its list for the London region for the European Elections. It will be headed by Lambeth councillor Scott Ainslie, and features a range of progressive and experienced voices from across London. The full list is:

  1. Scott Ainslie
  2. Gulnar Hasnain
  3. Shahrar Ali
  4. Rachel Collinson
  5. Eleanor Margolies
  6. Remco van der Stoep
  7. Kirsten De Keyser
  8. Peter Underwood

Tower Hamlets Green Party will be campainging hard to get London Green MEPs elected, and to build on the 3 MEPs the Green Party elected across the UK in 2014.
