Join the Green Party in Tower Hamlets and get active locally to change the world

Tower Hamlets Green Party will be standing a mayoral candidate and our largest ever slate of council candidates in May 2026. We will be running an energetic and positive campaign to build on the success of our two candidates in last year’s general election.

Here are some of the reasons why you should join us. You don’t have to agree with us on everything. We are not afraid to disagree among ourselves, but we are tolerant and accepting of differences of opinion.

You are fed up feeling a sense of horror and despair as governments all over the world give up on their commitments to stop climate change. You understand that it is the biggest threat to the majority of humanity and you want to push back against the climate denialism of Trump, Reform and the Tories.

You understand that Britain is a rich country and by redistributing some of the wealth we can create a more equal society, one without food banks, homelessness and chronic poverty.

You are compassionate. You know that even if Labour, Reform and the Tories want to pin  the blame on migrants and asylum seekers for what’s wrong in the country today, Tower Hamlets has always welcomed people from all over the world seeking safety and a better life.

Watching the genocide in Gaza, which none of the three big parties call by its proper name, you want to be in a party whose MPs and senior figures call it what it is. Our Green MPs do that and turn up with our members at the demonstrations supporting the people of Gaza.

You are an internationalist. You supported last year’s rising of students and workers in Bangladesh against a corrupt political class; you care about what is happening in Yemen, Sudan and Somalia and want a party that will take a principled ethical stand.

We are realistic. We know that even if we do win enough votes to run the council, that there are limits put on us by central government. However, we have an ambitious vision for the whole country. If you want to take a stand alongside other people who see climate justice as inseparable from social justice locally, nationally and internationally we think you should join us by clicking here.
